DJ Sbu mocked on Twitter for his speech at Nipsey Hussle memorial site

South African deejay and record producer, DJ Sbu was mocked on social media following his impromptu speech at a Los Angeles memorial site in honour of US rapper Nipsey Hussle.

Hussel, a Grammy-nominated rapper, was shot dead in front of his clothing store at close range on Sunday.

On Tuesday, Los Angeles police said they had arrested one suspect.

Speaking at a memorial site in Los Angeles on Monday, the former MetroFM deejay told crowds that he was representing the African continent.

“My name is DJ Sbu. I come all the way from Johannesburg in South Africa. I’m here as an ambassador for Hip hip music and the culture in the entire African continent. I represent musicians from the whole continent
South Africans were quick to react to the deejay’s comments.

Numerous Twitter users claimed that the Tembisa-born hitmaker had abandoned his House and Kwaito roots in favour of Hip Hop music.

They also questioned why he felt he was able to represent the continent.
