ANC to tighten membership requirements
The ANC is working on stricter requirements for membership.
The party says it will be debating ways to ensure that people who join are of good standing, have no criminal record, and are not corrupt.
The matter will be debated at the party’s policy conference continuing at Nasrec.
“How do we ensure that the members and leadership that we have represent the best in the society? We need to introduce much stricter requirements for ANC membership,” said Febe Potgieter, ANC General Manager.
“What we’re going to do, we need to look at different criteria and vet ANC members, see that they’re not corrupt and have no criminal record.”
