The purpose of this role is to assist the Business Development Manager and Managing Directors in maintaining a knowledge base of customers, reaching out to clients and potential clients via a number of prescribed actions and channels and assisting in finding information for social media marketing efforts.
The Sales and Marketing assistant should have some knowledge of the use of social media, the use of Customer Relationship management (CRM) tools and CRM concepts.
Marketing (Weighting: 50%):
Updating CRM with lead and contact information.
Compiling and manipulate CRM reports and compile monthly graphs.
Organising meetings with relevant stakeholders and clients / potential clients about an inquiry received.
Market research on specific topics.
Assisting in producing and ordering marketing material and literature, such as brochures and product / service catalogue.
Managing marketing material inventories.
Supporting with marketing events, exhibitions and conferences – external and internal.
Identifying potential content that our client may want to publish on social media.
Linking of marketing related information to social media accounts.
Assisting with the updating and formatting of brochures.
Assisting in defining groups of contacts for marketing campaigns.
Monitoring LinkedIn and website feedback and forums and advising on actions required.
Targeted email campaign execution to existing and potential clients.
Updating content on the web site regarding events & training.
Sales (Weighting: 50%):
Client cold calling and compiling results and adding the leads or contacts to the CRM.
Setting client meetings & presentations.
Assisting with the updating and formatting of standard proposal/quote / etc. templates.
Assisting BDM in the drafting of quotes and proposals from standard templates.
Following up on outstanding documentation / no feedback on proposals.
Following up on agreements sent for the signature that have not been signed.
Updating sales information in CRM.
Checking that all client documentation is linked to their CRM profile.
Assisting in extracting information of sales that are relevant for the project team to execute on the work and for the billing purposes and sharing that with the respective stakeholders.
Skills / Experience:
A degree or diploma in marketing or working towards a degree or diploma in marketing.
Two years of experience in software sales, ideally in the data analytics & analytics field.
Project management skills would be good.
Understanding of Sales and Marketing principles.
Very good English writing skills and the ability to communicate professionally with clients and staff.
MS Office, Google apps skills.
Knowledge of the use of social media as digital marketing tools.
The use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools and CRM concepts.
A valid license and your own transport.
Lives in/near Gauteng.
Completed business qualification of sorts (diploma or degree) or in the same field.
