An exceptional opportunity has arisen to join one of the world’s premier Sport Fishing Charter tour operator based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. Sport Fishing PNG has been operating since 2010 and has since grown to a fleet ranging from a 75 feet catamaran Mothership to several smaller craft of sizes 5.0 to 8 metres.
You will be the Master in charge of the Vessel “K20” and crew to provide safe passage at sea when travelling. You will be reporting to the General Manager and assist the team with the overall operations of the business when and wherever you can.
You must have a serious passion for Sport fishing as you will be the person who will decide where to go for best sport fishing locations. You will handle on average a group of 8 to 10 clients per every tour. We do 26 – 31 tours a year. Tours range from 6 to 10 days per charter.

The job requires you to have patience as what is required in a developing country . You must be hands on and be able to accept multitask responsibilities. Your duty is not just working on a boat but to assist with other projects where necessary in order for growth of the company.
Required Skills
MED 2 Certificate : 2 to 3 years
Master 5 Certificate and license : 2 to 3 years
Sport fishing experience an advantage : 1 to 2 years

Job Summary:
Master Class 5
Vessel Handling of a 23.5 mtr aluminium Catamaran
Job delegation for crew.
Computer and Paper work daily, ordering/receipting of stores.
Assist in maintenance planning, general day to day vessel organisational skills.
Conducting emergency drills.
Marine Engineer Driver Grade 2 Certificate
General ship maintenance.
Planned maintenance activities.
Servicing of Engines.
Maintaining hydraulic systems.
Bunkering.
Handling of PNG Maritime certificates and annual surveys.
Logistics supplies.
Loading and towing of tenders.
All mechanical repairs/maintenance.
We are looking for someone with Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
-Master class 5 – Must have previous master experience with references.
Able to work 24/7.
Experienced in working with similar Sport fishing or tourism operation is an advantage
Computer skills essential.
Drivers Licence essential
Marine Engineer Driver Grade 2 Certificate Holder – Must have previous engineering experience with references. (An advantage but not necessary)
Cummins engine maintenance experience advantage
Hydraulic systems knowledge/experience.
Computer skills essential.
