Maps Maponyane, along with thousands of Twitter users, is not fooled by Mampintsha’s injuries – allegedly sustained at the hands of his girlfriend, Babes Wodumo
Maps, whose real name is Masego, shared his thoughts on a video of Mampintsha, who left his bail hearing in a moon boot due to injuries he claims were caused by his partner.
A warrant for Mampintsha’s arrest was issued after Babes Wodumo videoed him hitting her violently. In retaliation, Mampintsha claims that the Gqom singer was also hitting him, during the incident on Sunday night.
Mampintsha eventually handed himself in before being released on R2 000 bail. When the West Ink boss left Pinetown Magistrate’s Court, he took a moment to plead his case when he said to Channel 24: “I was sober and peacefully sleeping when she came in drunk and attacked me. I’m not dumb, I know I am not supposed to hit a woman. She is the one that attacked me, ask anyone – she becomes very violent when she is drunk”.
Mampintsha claimed that his injuries were so severe that a doctor prescribed that he wear a controlled ankle motion walking boot – aka a ‘moon boot’
To further sell this story, the former Big Nuz star limped out of the court with apparent difficulty, as seen in this video:
The only problem is: those familiar with the moon boot and how it works were quick to identify the fact that Mampintsha could be faking his injury. Maps Maponyane was one of many who pointed this out:

Since being released on bail, Mampintsha has made an effort to clear his name, starting with an interview on Ukhozi FM. During the conversation, he alleged that Babes Wodumo had drug and alcohol problems, while also claiming that it was she who attacked him. He said on air:
“I just want to apologise to the fans, to the listeners and everyone. However, I want to make it clear that I am the victim here. Babes attacked me in bed in the house,”
