Man’s burnt body found near dumpsite

The Mpumalanga police have launched a manhunt after a burnt body of an unknown man was found near a dumpsite in Sgagula Village outside Acornhoek, Mpumalanga on Wednesday morning, 26 June.

Police spokesman Colonel Donald Mdhluli said the man, aged between 35 and 40, was brutally killed in the village on an unknown date.

“An investigation has now brought forth some crucial information, which suggests that the victim could have been assaulted and burnt by unknown suspects hence a murder case was opened. The motive is unknown at this stage.

“According to information, the deceased is unknown and therefore, we request that all those who have opened missing persons cases in our neighbouring stations come forward to identify the corpse. The police launched a massive manhunt for the suspects,” he said.

Acting Mpumalanga police commissioner Major-General Zeph Mkhwanazi strongly condemned the man’s brutal murder. He further emphasized that no stone would be left unturned, and the goal is to swiftly capture and bring the perpetrator of this heinous crime before justice.
