The busy N3 near Montrose was closed on Tuesday morning following a crash involving two trucks and a bus.
Both lanes in a northbound direction (towards Gauteng) have been reopened.
Traffic is heavily backed up in both directions as officials try to clear the scene.
The accident happened at around 6 am on Tuesday morning.
Motorists are warned to expect an extensive backlog and delays in the area.
It’s not clear what caused the crash.
