Maintenance Planner
(PERMANENT VACANCY)
RHEINMETALL LAINGSDALE (PTY) LTD is a leader in the field of precision mechanical manufacturing with its origins in the field of defense industry. An opportunity exists at Rheinmetall Laingsdale (Maitland) in Cape Town for a Maintenance Planner.
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Manufacturing Manager.
Minimum Requirements:
National Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering;
5 years’ minimum experience gained as a Maintenance Planner within a Manufacturing environment;
Prior supervisory experience would be an advantage.
Key responsibilities include, inter alia:
Ensuring optimal availability and performance of the plant and equipment reliability;
Ensure a high level of internal customer satisfaction through fast and effective service provisions;
Developing, reviewing and updating all maintenance schedules for the plants, including facility maintenance;
Optimising the engineering program including annual shutdown;
Controlling and maintaining Safety Health Environment (S.H.E.) and risk schedules and documentation;
Review reports with planning team to highlight problem area;
Check maintenance plan;
Inform maintenance team leader and production supervisor of any impending services;
Based on this information drawn up daily, weekly, monthly and yearly preventative maintenance plan;
Perform administrative tasks for maintenance function.
Recommended Competencies and Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point and Project);
Knowledge of company ERP System and other systems for maintenance planning;
Excellent analytical abilities with emphasis on breakdown stats and machine optima/availabilities;
Good communication (verbal/non-verbal) with strong presentation and negotiations skills;
Driven, confident, self-motivated and results orientated.
