RS Recruitment Services is assisting a leading organization in the MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY to recruit a MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN on an initial 3-month contract to be based in UMKOMAAS, Kzn.
Applicants should be/have the following:
Matric + N4/N5 with minimum of 5 years apprenticeship practical experience.
Trade qualification papers with a wireman’s licence
At least 10 years of Electrical experience
High Level of Computer Literacy.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Excellent mathematical ability and proficient in Electrical Fields.
Understanding of Electrical working principles. Ability to analyse with strong fault- finding skills.
Ability to fault find using electrical circuits provided and replace faulty components to ensure machine availability is utilized to a maximum.
Ability to generate own electrical drawings by tracing machine circuits.
Thorough knowledge of variable speed drives, Process Logic Controllers (PLC’S) and basic electronics experience.
Must be able to manage and control the ordering of spare parts to avoid machine downtime.
Applicant must be reliable, trustworthy and work well under pressure.
Strong hands-on person, who is prepared to work hard.
This is a 3-month contract with a possible permanent post
Be willing to work shifts, overtime, and callouts
Responsibilities:
Ensure that equipment produces to the expected required efficiency and all maintenance tasks are performed in accordance with the equipment supplier safety requirements
Report all defects and/or conditions preventing the completion of maintenance activities as prescribed by the job card system.
Assist with projects, repairs of faulty equipment as required
Work on electrical breakdowns.
Help maintain good housekeeping practices and ensure that area of responsibility complies with all health
and safety regulations and procedures
Take corrective and preventative action whenever necessary during the execution of duties.
Attend to breakdowns and carry out maintenance on plant machinery
Ensure maximum plant availability by being proactive
Ensure the safety of people and plant machinery by adhering to company safety procedures
Remuneration:
Negotiable, depending on experience and qualifications.
Provident Fund & Medical Aid – if made permanent after an initial 3-month contract.
