Hawks head Lt General Godfrey Lebeya takes the stand at Zondo Commissio

The head of the Hawks, Lt General Godfrey Lebeya, is set to give evidence related to operations within the law enforcement agency at the State Capture Commission of Inquiry.
On Thursday, retired police Colonel Johannes Van Loggerenberg testified about alleged corruption between the police and KZN businessman Thoshan Panday.
The State Capture Commission of Inquiry is seeking a further extension to complete its work.
In February, an application will be heard in the North Gauteng High Court to extend it by ten months. Already, the inquiry has cost the state in excess of R356-million as Wednesday’s proceedings show cracks in its administration.
