A leading JSE-listed packaging manufacturing company requires the above to manage the Logistics function by applying the principles of planning, organising, leading and controlling activities and people through the implementation of relevant best practices that are aimed at achieving the organisationâs and operationâs logistical objectives.
Minimum requirements for the role:
A Degree or Diploma in Business or Logistics or related is essential.
Previous Supply Chain Management or Logistics experience having worked within the plastic industry is essential.
Previous People Management experience is essential.
Contract Management experience would be advantageous.
Computer literacy is essential with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Ability to build and maintain relationships is essential.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Overseeing and implementing logistics optimisation projects.
Optimising and consolidating inbound and outbound materials movement.
Managing import and export of goods as well as import, transport and distribution costs.
Optimising stock holding and using resources effectively.
Ensuring that the company meets delivery due dates.
Maintaining stock levels according to current and future market trends.
Monitoring orders against delivery plan and ensuring delivery dates are met.
Ensuring that raw material is ordered based on stock items and planning.
Managing and performing price checks on non-stock purchases.
Supplying relevant stock figures to customers.
Monitoring critical measurements and recoding daily per shift.
Motivating teams to reach targets and to work according to the company’s policies.
Salary package, including benefits, are highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
