ABOUT THE ROLE/PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Locomotive Driver manoeuvres trains from the exchange yard to loading and off-loading point at various Business Units
FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS
Operate locomotive within the prescribed operating procedures safely inside and/ or outside the
factory
Identifies and reports all abnormalities regarding rolling stock, rail track and locomotives to the shift
supervisor
General administration, daily checks and report on defects
Plan driving activities
Communicate by two way radio with the rail crew
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must be willing to work shifts
Must be in good physical health
Must be willing to work in all weather conditions
Liaise with BU’s and maintain good communication
Computer literate
QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE
Grade 12
Qualified Locomotive Driver – Accredited Service Provider
24 months relevant experience
