Eskom says blackouts will be reduced to stage three from 5am on Monday morning.
That will last until Tuesday morning at 5 am when it will be reduced to stage 2.
South Africa’s stage 2 status is indefinite from Tuesday.
The shortages are being blamed on a number of breakdowns at power stations countrywide.
Some units are being repaired and there’s been a delay in returning some to service.
