Job Description
RCL FOODS is seeking a Learning Specialist to join our Consumer Division. The role will be based in Westville and report to the Learning Manager. RCL FOODS is looking for an influencer with a passion for the development of employees. RCL FOODS entrusts the Learning Specialist to deliver professional and technical learning to the Business Unit through effective supervision of facilitators and training service providers and the provision of effective logistical support.

Duties & Responsibilities: Learning Programme Implementation Source details on learning and development interventions, as defined in the training strategy, in order to meet organisational, departmental and individual development needs. Brief external vendors and facilitators on the specific requirements of the programmes. Schedule staff to attend internal and external learning events in accordance with the wider learning and development strategy. Produce reports on learning and development activity using agreed HR performance indicators.

Prepare learning and development materials to a consistently high standard and ensure that they reach the delegates/facilitators within agreed timescales. Produce and maintain accurate electronic and manual learning and development records in compliance with organisational policies and procedures. Evaluate the programmes using accepted criteria. Analyse learning and development evaluations and drive amendments to programmes and changes to facilitators. Provide specialist support in the skills development levy claim process.

Assist line managers and facilitators solve specific training or learning problems, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups. Learning Design and Development Work in conjunction with Subject Matter Expert(s) to develop learning curriculum for induction, leadership, professional, production-focused and technical, training, mentoring and coaching programmes Produce learning material using in house capacity or external vendors. Produce internal and external learning programmes that align with the organisation’s business objectives and employee needs. Work in conjunction with Learning Manager and SME(s) to edit and update learning material and programme content to continuously improve of the programmes.

Work with training providers to develop suitable course content. Learning Systems Quality assurance Ensure documentation and record keeping is up to date and accurate. Regularly audit data within area of responsibility to ensure information integrity and ISO compliance. Participate in ISO and supplier audits and ensure audit recommendations are actioned within area of responsibility. Talent Pipeline (Bursaries, Interns and Apprentices) Participate in the process of selection, appointment and development of the Bursary students, interns and apprentices and ensure that all necessary documentation is kept up to date. Liaise with relevant universities and learning institutions to obtain student results and monitor progress recommend necessary action to Learning manager.

Maintain regular contact with students to ensure that learning issues are addressed proactively. Effective Teamwork and Self-Management Take ownership and accountability for tasks and activities and demonstrates effective self-management in terms of planning and prioritising, and self-development. Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of work are consistently and accurately maintained.

Inform relevant parties in the event of tasks or deadlines not met, the potential risks thereof and provide appropriate resolution. Support and drive the business and HR’s core values. Manage colleagues and client’s expectations and communicate appropriately.

Demonstrate willingness to help others and “go the extra mile” to meet team targets and objectives. Minimum Requirements
Matric Valid Code EB drivers’ license 3 years relevant training and development and facilitation experience.
