The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for compounding liquid & powder flavours by weighing and mixing of flavour compounds and/or food ingredients. You will be based in Isando, South Africa and support various Savoury & Snack projects related to the Sub-Saharan Africa region.

Responsibilities:

Review assigned formulas for compounding, ensuring proper sequence of mixing.
Retrieve ingredients as indicated on the formula, ensuring only QC approved ingredients are used.
Accurately measure ingredients in a timely manner using scales.
Packages approved batches and labels all finished product containers.
Keep retention samples for traceability purposes.
Maintain an organized and updated stock of raw materials in the lab and label containers when needed.
Use equipment that is in proper working condition and cleans equipment.
Maintains a clean and safe work area, and adheres to safety regulations and procedures, understanding the hazards of handling various chemicals.
Filing of formulations for traceability.

Required Experience

Required Experience:

Previous flavour/food compounding experience.
Prior experience handling chemicals.
Knowledge of compounding and understanding of special formula instructions.
Knowledge of GMP/HACCP
Secondary/High School Diploma or preferably a Degree/Diploma in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology.
1-3 years’ experience in a food applications lab, production or related area. Apply Now
