KwaZulu-Natal: At 11H47 Tuesday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the M13 King Cetshwayo Highway Westbound in New Germany, Durban.
Reports from the scene indicate that the driver of a kombi, an elderly male lost control impacting a bridge pillar.
Rescue crew had to use hydraulic tools to remove the person from the vehicle.
The patient was assessed on scene by medics and found to have no signs of life and sadly declared deceased on the scene.
A pet dog was found on scene as well and was treated on scene by medics before being transported by ambulance to a veterinary for further treatment.
