The Basadi in Music Awards took place at the Joburg Theatre on 8 and 9 August 2026. This year’s ceremony marked the fifth anniversary of the platform, which celebrates women across music, entertainment and related creative industries.
Kelly faced strong competition in a constantly changing music landscape. Nevertheless, she walked away with the Afro Pop Artist of the Year award.
In addition, she performed during the ceremony alongside a star-studded line-up. Other performers included Makhadzi, Lira, MaWhoo, Monique Bingham, Nia Pearl, Nothando Hlophe and Anele Zondo.
