Kate Moss to testify in Johnny Depp’s defamation case

Kate Moss is set to testify in the ongoing defamation case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. The 48-year-old model dated the Hollywood star between 1994 and 1997, and she’s now poised to take to the stand on Wednesday, via video link.

Heard, 36, previously referenced the model during the ongoing court case, when she discussed an alleged altercation between Depp and Whitney Henriquez, Heard’s sister.

She said: “(Whitney’s) back was to the staircase, and Johnny swings at her. I don’t hesitate, I don’t wait – I just, in my head, instantly think of Kate Moss and stairs. The reference gave them the opportunity to call the model as an impeachment witness to disprove the allegation.

And a source close to Depp has now confirmed to People that Moss will appear before the court later this week. Meanwhile, Moss previously admitted that it took her years to overcome the heartache of her split from Depp.

Dr. David Spiegel, a psychiatrist who is an expert in intimate partner violence, testified that he believes Depp showed behaviors that are consistent with both someone who has a substance use disorder as well as consistent behaviours of someone who is a perpetrator of intimate partner violence. Neither Moore nor Spiegel have ever examined or spoken with Depp. Both reviewed medical records and testimony associated with the case.
Entertainment industry expert Kathryn Arnold also testified about her analysis of Depp and Heard’s respective careers.

Arnold testified that she believes Heard’s op-ed did not have much of an impact on Depp’s career.
“Very little,” Arnold testified. “Hardly anybody even knew the op-ed existed before he filed suit. If anybody that I know but certainly not Disney. Arnold believes that Heard, on the other hand, has lost up to $50 million in possible earnings over the next five years due to Depp’s attorney’s statements calling Heard’s claims a hoax. Attorneys for both sides are expected to give closing statements in the case on Friday.
