Blade Nzimande claims July unrest could be linked to Parliament fire

South African Communist Party (SACP) general-secretary Blade Nzimande believes there is a connection between the 2021 July unrest and the torching of Parliament.

Nzimande says there is a counter-revolution happening within the ranks of the ANC.

Nzimande was delivering a message of support to the ANC during its 110-anniversary rally in Polokwane on Saturday.

“We are saying, President Cyril Ramaphosa must give law enforcement a chance to investigate fully the July counter-revolution last year, the torching of our Parliament but as the SACP, we smell a rat,” he said.

“We are very suspicious that there is a connection between the July 21 offensive and the torching of our Parliament.”
