Neil Aggett’s death wasn’t suicide – Judge rules

It’s been fourty years since his death, and now the inquest finding into activist Neil Aggett’s death has been overturned.

The high court in Johannesburg handed down its ruling today following an application to overturn the apartheid-era inquest that found Aggett committed suicide while in police custody.

Judge Motsamai Makume says Aggett’s death was not a suicide.

Makume says the 1982 inquest was a cover-up.
