About the Client:
Our client is a professional services company; specialising in advisory and consulting services in South Africa (currently Cape Town and Johannesburg only).
Advisory Services: They assist their customers with their Sales and Marketing strategy and function on how to improve their visibility, building their brand and creating a Marketing plan that supports their Business and Commercial Strategy of the Company.
Consulting Services: They assist their customers by deploying skilled and experienced professional contractors at their premises for periods ranging from 6 to 24 months.
Role:
The IT Development Manager will be responsible for managing the delivery of the Agile delivery team, incorporating the Scrum Master role.
Responsibilities:
Executing people management processes within own team re: Performance Management, Change Management.
Performing the role of Scrum Master and ensuring all impediments are removed timeously.
Managing and grooming TFS backlog for team to ensure that work flowing into team is at the right state to be accepted into a sprint and aligns with the business objectives.
Maintaining standards within own team.
Ensuring minimum comebacks / rework from sprint deliverables.
Scheduling and facilitating the Scrum ceremony meetings.
Timeous and effective communication with Project Manager(s), Product owner(s), Delivery and Design teams.
Ensuring that sufficient capacity is available in sprints for support and maintenance.
Managing dependencies across delivery teams.
Driving delivery within a high-performance agile team.
Candidate Requirements
Skill and Experience:
A solid understanding of Agile development.
A solid technical background in systems development using Microsoft technologies.
5+ years relevant IT experience.
Scrum Master certification.
Previous exposure to financial services.
Experience in the following would be a bonus:
Scrum master / Agile development experience.
People Management experience.
