Who is Simphiwe Mdakane?
Siphiwe Mdakane is a 19 years old girl who grew up in Soweto zone 2 being raised by her great-grandmother and now stays with her mother, stepfather and 4 siblings in Dobsonville ext5.
I’m a goal orientated person I always work towards reaching my goals even if it’s just a few, I study film and television production. I’m a city varsity first-year student. Film Production isn’t really what I’m passionate about I like it, I didn’t want to go for something I knew I’m already in love with like being in front of the camera.
Film Production is challenging but in a good way, I enjoy how it challenges me it pushes me to fall in love with it on a daily basis. The end goal is to shoot sports and direct soapies.
When is your birthday?
My birthday is on the 30th of May.

Making love to the camera, being on YouTube and educate myself about film and outings with my best friend.
What Inspires you?
Nothing inspires me like seeing people in my age group pushing to be better in this life thing.
Apart from Modelling what are your other talents?
Modelling isn’t even a talent I didn’t know It was in me to make magic in front of the camera until Tumstar Wadinepe asked to shoot me and then I fell in love with it and it is now a passion, my other talent is singing I know I inherited that from my mother.
Do you have a boyfriend? OR Married?
I am not in a relationship I’m single.
She clearly loves her Music…. She said: “I’m a deep house fan.”
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
In the next 5 years, I would have graduated, taken modelling on a better level would probably be a Revlon ambassador by then, working at spoiling my great grandmother and making everyone in the family proud and would have begun shooting sports.
Have you faced any challenges in your career?
I won’t say I’ve faced any challenges because I’ve never knocked on any agencies door and have doors being shut on my face, people have been approaching me instead. The only challenge is that I have come across people who claim they want to work knowing that they don’t even want to quite a few times, that has helped me to be smart with everyone I intend to work with.
What advice do you have for someone who wants to get into the same industry?
My advice would be that, they should just be themselves and must be careful of these dodgy people who are fake, make sure they get themselves a manager to help and assist them with everything and most importantly they must not give up even when certain doors don’t open for them.
Is there a crazy side to you that your fans should know about? if so what’s the craziest thing you have ever done?
I become a party animal on my birth month I don’t know why but it just happens well it’s the excitement of growing up. The craziest thing I’ve ever done was to leave my siblings alone and go to the groove.
