Exciting opportunity for an efficient and committed HR Assistant to join a thriving HR Department.

The role will encompass an Executive Assistant role to an HR Executive and assist in all areas of HR. This role will form part of the core HR team serving SA.

The individual must:

Understand and have worked in an environment that requires the utmost discretion and confidentiality.
Understand how to manage relationships within the business i.e. build same without crossing the line and understanding the need for independence.
Be trustworthy and loyal. This person will be privy to all sorts of information and require high level of trust.
Have provided support at a leadership level.
Have effective communication skills – verbal & written – must be able to craft communication / content in different mediums – professional, articulate. Good use of English business language.
Be able to function as an extension of the HR Exec when asked to engage Leadership or others – in person and in writing.
Initiative (absolutely critical) – must be able to determine actions, pre- and post, follow up etc, without being constantly directed. In many instances, the team has to pull together to get things done – This person needs to use their initiative and get involved.
Be creative and innovative – They are looking for someone who will look at better ways of doing things, creating efficiency and come forward with ideas.
Have attention to detail (absolutely critical) – this person will be required to vet information that the executive needs to sign and have an eye for detail.
Adhere to and be mindful of timelines and delivery – must be able to plan ahead of time, highlight risks, actions needed etc.
Be confident and credible – and who understands human dynamics and is mature – this person is an extension of the HR Executive and the HR team.
Be able to assist in managing the exec’s time and assist in diary co-ordination. They are looking for someone who can keep the exec on track for the day especially when they need to move from meeting to meeting.
Be able to work with speed, accuracy and a sense of urgency.
Management of POs, supplier contracts etc. will fall within this person’s gambit – along with much, much more.
“Be an example” – as the HR team, they are champions of the culture and compliance – and as such they need to be role models for same. This is critical.
Must have the ability to project manage – there will be projects from time to time that this person will need to run with.
Be a team player – there if no task too small or big – as you can imagine with this role, there will be a variety of requirements from business imperatives to travel to expense claims to supporting the team on allocated tasks.
Be able to utilise the business tools (they will provide learning), as you will need to be able to draw data and reports. They need someone who is good with numbers.
Be a team player and confidant – there will be no tolerance for someone who has an appetite for carrying stories, entertaining gossip or destructive talk or behaviour.
Have good energy and display a growth mindset.
This role is important and has the potential to add such impact and the successful individual can make the role their own.

Minimum requirements:

Completed matric
Relevant HR and Admin qualifications
Experience in an EA role within an HR Division and experience working with Executive Management
Good understanding of HR skills, ie: BEE, Labour Law and general HR
