HT Denmark 1 – 1 Australia #WorldCup

Halftime: Denmark 1-1 Australia That was a full-blooded opening half of World Cup football. Eriksen’s beauty set things off and running but Australia grew into the contest the longer it went on and deserved their equaliser from the spot. All to play for after the break.

It all started with Australia, they should have scored. Mathew Leckie is left unmarked in a corner but he heads over. Should’ve buried it.

ERIKSEN! Who else?? Australia do not clear a ball away and Denmark capitalise. Jorgensen lays a ball cleverly on to Eriksen’s path who lashes a finish home.

PENALTY to Australia! VAR intervenes after a header from Milligan’s clearly struck the outstretched arm of Poulsen. Referee had initially waved play on but no evading the VAR.

And what’s more? Mile Jedinak converts the spot-kick with ease.

We are now waiting for another exciting 45 minutes.
