An exciting new vacancy has opened up at the brand-new wedding venue for a head chef situated n Hartbeespoort, North West. We are looking for someone who is absolutely passionate about food and extremely creative in its execution.

QUALIFICATIONS

Grade 12/ Matric
Formal Chef Qualification ( degree / diploma)
5 years experience in the industry
Own vehicle and valid driver’s license
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Menu planning, catering and function planning, stock ordering, food costing and calculation, shift schedule planning, daily stock take and control. Supervising and training of kitchen staff. Preparation of food in line with Standard of Excellence. Effective guest interaction with regards to specific dietary requirements to enhance guest satisfaction.

Administration of orders to minimize shortages, wastage and effectively control kitchen stock. Correct use, care and maintenance of kitchen equipment at all times. Communication with kitchen, restaurant and front of house staff to ensure the smooth running of the department.

SKILLS / BEHAVIORS: Ability to lead a kitchen. Excellent understanding of kitchen procedure and timing requirements, good planning and organizational skills. A passion for food and kitchen-related duties and be determined to grow in this area. Good communication skills and people interaction. Good cooking skills.

Able to work under pressure. Understanding of health and hygiene issues safety procedures and the use of fire fighting equipment and first aid training. Prepare, handle, and store food using internationally acceptable hygiene standards.

Clean and maintain kitchen and food preparation areas using internationally acceptable hygiene standards and according to the requirements of the hygiene audit. Must be able to work independently. Highly professional in manner and appearance.

SALARY
