Three of the 14 suspects accused of vigilante attacks in Zandspruit have been granted bail in the Roodepoort magistrate’s court.
Two other suspects abandoned their bail applications while the other nine remain behind bars.
The 13 men and a woman are accused of beating and setting alight nine young men in Zandspruit in May.
Four victims died at the scene and four others died later in hospital.
One person survived.
The suspects face murder, attempted murder, and kidnapping charges.
The case will be back in court at the end of October.
