A leading and cutting-edge international GIS solutions and consultancy firm is looking to employ a GIS Software Developer/IT Specialist to join their Durban based team on a permanent basis.
If you have programming, software implementation and database administration experience in the GIS/Geospatial/Location Intelligence fields, this is a great opportunity to learn, develop and contribute to an international leader in its field.
Applicant must have:
Tertiary qualification in Geo-Informatics or Computer Science, otherwise ample relevant programming experience
At least two years experience in C# development
Exposure/experience in Web Development (JavaScript)
Database design and development: MS SQL Server/Oracle/DB2
Basic administration of a MS SQL Server: assigning users, backing up data and working with the SQL Server Management Studio.
Having experience in any of the following technologies will be highly advantageous:
Software installation and implementation
Web development
Database administration
Data manipulation
GIS application development using ArcObjects with C#
Experience in the use of the Esri ArcGIS product range e.g.:
ArcGIS Desktop
ArcGIS Server (basic administration and managing map services)
Geodatabases design and implementation
Salary – R25 to R50k basic, negotiable dependant on experience
