SUMMARY
Assist in the layout, fit, and fabricating metal components to assemble structural steel fittings using several tools
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must reside in the Pinetown area
The ability to lift, bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs
Be on Feet 8 to 12 hours shifts
Must be flexible with Schedule
The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
Ability to lift heavy objects
Ability to speak, read and write English.
Primary Responsibilities:
2 years of experience gained in a factory environment working on Cutting Machines
Experience working with Steel and metal.
Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, and tape measure.
Cut workpiece using powered band saws, shears, cutting torch.
Ability to solve problems
Use Drills
Pre-production check of the machine.
Analyse cutting instruction on cutting slip.
Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools.
Report operating issues that might occur during the shift to the Team Leader.
Monitor the machine during every procedure to ensure optimum running.
Keep records of approved and or final products.
