Gautrain operator says it has contingency plans for passengers amid expected NUMSA strike

The Bombela Operating Company says it has contingency plans for Gautrain passengers amid an expected strike by the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA).

Workers affiliated with the union will down tools on Monday, demanding a 13% wage increase and for other issues to be sorted out.

The company’s spokesperson, Kesagee Nayager, said their stations will be up and running.

“The Bombela Operating Company wishes to assure Gautrain passengers that services will not be disrupted by the planned strike by its employees affiliated with NUMSA. We will keep customers updated in this regard.”
