Job Overview
Sandton Auctioneers is a well-respected family owned Auctioneering Company, based in Craighall Park, Johannesburg and is seeking an enthusiastic assistant with a love of the art world. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities (but not limited to)
Administrative: Research and upkeep of art database, filing, answering of telephone, issuing written correspondence, organising parcels for the courier company, various adhoc duties.
Desktop Publishing Support: Design posters, invitations, flyers, catalogues, newspaper advertisements, brochures in preparation for weekly Auction Events.
Public Relations: Maintain online social media accounts and websites.
Other Duties: Photographing paintings, bronzes and collectables. In terms of editing the images, use of deep etching technique of bronzes and collectables for upload on website and catalogue use. Light handle of artwork.
Requirements
Matric Exemption or later
Own car and drivers license
Basic Office Skills
Good communication skills, English Speaking
Accuracy in performing assigned duties/ability to meet deadlines.
Detail and team-oriented, yet able to work alone when necessary.
Creative aptitude
Must be proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, & Publisher
Knowledge of photography
