Businesswoman, Pumza Ponshee Gambula, has been granted R20,000 bail.
Gambula appeared briefly at the Specialised Commercial Crime Court in Mthatha on charges of fraud to the value of R5-million.
It’s alleged she charged three Eastern Cape municipalities for a COVID-19 door-to-door awareness campaign.
Gambula’s company allegedly submitted fraudulent documents to various councils.
The Port St Johns, King Sabata Dalindyebo, and Mhlonto local municipalities were targetted.
