Former president Jacob Zuma survives a car accident that happened on Thursday night. Zuma was reportedly on his way to campaign for the newly formed MK Party in Eshowe at the time of the accident. The accident happened shortly before 19:00 when one car in his convoy crashed between Gingindlovu and Eshowe in KwaZulu-Natal.That was confirmed by KZN MK head of elections Musa Mkhize, who claimed that Zuma’s car was targeted.
Mkhize said Zuma received medical attention and is well while he and his bodyguards involved in the accident are kept in the safety space.
Asked if the president is in hospital or his home, Mkhize said the president is safe wherever he is. Mkhize questioned why the car didn’t hit all the cars in Zuma’s convoy but just collided with the one Zuma was in.
“Why would the certain car that caused the accident only target the main car of president Zuma and not other few cars? How possible.
“President Zuma’s care was targeted,” he said. What happened last night I must say that is something we were waiting for. It happened because the president was warned that come before the election, he will be lying in the hospital. We don’t know what more is still coming.
“As the MK party in KZN, we are highly concerned, particularly with the presidential protection unit and the minister of the police, that the safety of the president has been highly compromised due to political interference in his safety, having his security reduced dramatically to put his life in danger because he is in support of Umkhonto weSizwe Party who will after the 29 May will be leading the government,” he said.
