Former Gauteng Transport MEC and senior ANC official Khabisi Mosunkutu died at his home on Monday night.
The 69-year old suffered a stroke in July and had been ill for some time.
In 2010, then Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane axed Mosunkutu as MEC for Community Safety.
He resigned from the provincial legislature in 2011, after more than a decade as a member of the executive in various portfolios.
