Job Description
Some of the Key Activities & Responsibilities which can be expected:
(By no means an exhaustive list)
Follow-up with statement clients monthly (Debtors Control).
Assisting clients with Invoice related queries
Monthly Department Reconciliations.
Processing of bank account transactions to various GL Accounts on a monthly basis.
Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts
Payroll Maintenance on a monthly basis (Creating payslips, calculating commissions).
Calculating VAT Liability Bi-Monthly
Assist with SARS returns, such as VAT201 and EMP201, on a monthly and bi-monthly basis.
Assist with preparation of Annual Financial Statements
Drive the company’s financial planning
Drive and implement effective financial controls and systems
Perform risk management by analyzing the organization’s liabilities and investments
Decide on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks
Control and evaluate the organization’s fundraising plans and capital structure
Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations
Supervise and manage all finance and admin personnel
Prepare reliable current and forecasting reports
Set up and oversee the company’s finance IT system
Ensure statutory compliance with the law and the company’s policies
Requirements and Qualifications
have strong administration skills
have a sound understanding of business accounting and client information needs
be able to work independently
think outside of the box
be willing to get his/her hands dirty and do the basic groundwork, as well as intricate and interesting new implementations of business accounting
have good people and communicating skills
Relevant accounting degree (BCom/BCompt/BAcc)
SAIPA articles (preferred)
Experience with: Sage and Pastel online products, including Payroll; Draftworx Cloud; Xero
Good understanding of and experience with tax
