Job Description:
A well-known chemical company is seeking a highly-skilled Export Controller for their Durban offices. Applicants should have details knowledge of handling dangerous goods as well as the ability to compile quotations and invoices. Candidate should work well under pressure and is a fast-moving and changing environment.
Applicants should hold strong communication and leadership skills. This company prides themselves on the development and training they provide to their employees as well as proven succession plans.
Qualification:
Matric: non-negotiable
Shipping/freight and logistics certifications would be highly advantageous
Dangerous goods certification – advantageous
Experience:
Minimum of 5-6 years working experience as a multi-modal Exports Controller.
Skills Required:
Knowledge of tariff affairs
Fully computer literate
Advanced MS Office proficiency
Solid administration experience
Knowledge of Cargo-wise and core freight will be advantageous
Excellent communication and client liaison
Must be mathematically sound
Relevant industry knowledge – advantageous (Chemicals)
Works well under pressure and is able to meet deadlines
Demonstration and understanding of Operational processes and legislations
Knowledge of the entire sea freight export procedure is essential
