Eskom implements stage 2 blackouts until further notice

Eskom has gone back on its promise to suspend blackouts for New Year’s celebrations. On Friday the utility announced that the power cuts would be suspended from 4 PM on Saturday.

However less than a day later they said this is no longer possible due to the breakdown of five generating units.

Stage 2 power cuts will continue until further notice.
