African National Congress (ANC) president Cyril Ramaphosa said the party welcomes improvements by Eskom to increase energy availability.
Ramaphosa was addressing the media on the outcomes of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Boksburg on Sunday afternoon.
On Saturday, Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa told the NEC that the energy availability factor now sits at 60%.
Ramaphosa said the progress brings hope.
” The incidents of load shedding have now been reduced from stage 6 and hovering around stage 3. There is great progress in stabilizing the Eskom system and there are various units now coming back to operation, kusile will come back earlier than we had anticipated.”
