EFF to continue fight for insourcing municipal workers in SA metros

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema said that his party will continue to fight for the insourcing of municipal workers in Tshwane, Johannesburg, and Nelson Mandela Bay.

In the past, contract workers in the metros have threatened to down tools, demanding to be absorbed as permanent government employees.

Speaking during the EFF’s 11th-anniversary celebrations in Kimberley in the Northern Cape on Saturday, Malema said the EFF will ensure the dignity of municipal workers is restored.

“We fought for the insourcing of workers in all universities and tertiary institutions. People are being hired, getting promotions and pension funds because of the EFF.”
