Rendering psychological support services to students who are registered for the Extended Degree Programme (EDP) of Stellenbosch University;
Conducting intake interviews;
Diagnosis (if applicable);
Individual and group psychotherapy;
Report writing;
Developing intervention programmes (may include applicable referrals);
Case management of EDP students (may include needs analysis and appropriate referral to other services on campus, e.g. social services);
Developmental work (including work sessions, for example about study methods, time management, stress management and exam preparation);
Following up on referrals made by faculty support staff;
Developing and implementing a support model for EDP students.

Lewering van sielkundige ondersteuningsdienste aan studente wat geregistreer is vir die Verlengde Graadprogramme (VGP) wat deur die Universiteit Stellenbosch aangebied word;
Inname-onderhoude;
Diagnose (indien van toepassing);
Individuele en groep-psigoterapie;
Verslagskrywing;
Ontwikkeling van intervensieprogramme (kan toepaslike verwysings insluit);
Gevallebestuur van VGP-studente (kan ’n behoefteanalise en verwysing na toepaslike eksterne dienste op kampus – byvoorbeeld maatskaplike werker – insluit);
Ontwikkelingswerk (insluitend werksessies byvoobeeld tydsbestuur, studievaardighede, streshantering en voorbereiding vir eksamens);
Opvolg van verwysings deur die fakulteite se ondersteuningspersoneel;
Ontwikkeling en implementering van ’n ondersteuningsmodel vir VGP studente.

Master’s degree in Educational Psychology, e.g. MedPsych;
Registration as educational psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa;
At least six months’ relevant experience in academic counselling at a Higher Education Institution;
Experience in psychotherapy for young adults;
Training or experience in brain-based learning practices;
Computer proficiency;
Experience in group facilitation;
Psychotherapeutic support to a diverse student population.

Meestersgraad in Opvoedkundige Sielkunde, byvoorbeeld MedPsig;
Registrasie as opvoedkundige sielkundige by die Raad vir Gesondheidsberoepe van Suid-Afrika;
Minstens ses maande toepaslike ervaring van akademiese voorligting aan studente by ‘n Hoër Onderwys Instansie;
Ervaring in die psigoterapeutiese ondersteuning van jong volwassenes;
Opleiding en/of ervaring in breingebaseerde leerpraktyke;
Rekenaarvaardigheid;
Ervaring in die fasilitering van groepe;
Psigoterapeutiese ondersteuning aan ’n diverse studente populasie;
Die vermoë om onder druk te werk;
Die vermoë om effektief in spanverband te werk;
Die vermoë om volgens vasgestelde skedule in gestruktureerde omgewing kwaliteitdiens te lewer;
Empaties;
Onafhanklike werker;
’n Deursigtige en effektiewe kommunikasiestyl;

Work experience within a multidisciplinary professional team;
Above average written and verbal proficiency in English and one other official South African language;
Experience and knowledge within the field of Community Psychology;
Proven experience in trauma counselling.

Ervaring van werk as lid van multidissiplinêre professionele span;
Bogemiddelde skriftelike en mondelinge taalvaardigheid in Engels sowel as een van die ander amptelike tale in Suid-Afrika;
Ervaring en kennis van gemeenskapsielkunde;
