Eastern Cape mass shootings described as shocking and outrageous

Eastern Cape Transport and Community Safety MEC Xolile Nqatha says the rise of mass shootings in the province are shocking and outrageous. This follows the brutal killing of six CPF members at Godini Village in the Kumkani Mhlontlo Local Municipality last night.

The MEC has condemned the act of criminality and conveyed his condolences to the families of deceased. Additionally, the Royal Majesty acting King Daluxolo Sigcau has tied the fatal shooting of the CPF members to a retaliation by criminals for the swift action they have taken to end stock theft in the area.

The MEC says nothing will deter the department and SAPS in dealing with crime in the province.

MEC’s spokesperson Makhaya Komisa says, “Community Safety MEC Xolile Nqatha is utterly shocked by the increasing level of disdain and callous nature of criminality in the province. The MEC conveys his condolences to the families of the deceased and wants to assure people of the province that no criminality will break the dissolve to defeat lawlessness in the province.
