Eastern Cape gives COVID-19 update

The Eastern Cape government will brief the media on Tuesday. The Special Investigating Unit is looking into various allegations of corruption in the province.

The SIU has been called to probe the scooter tender, the R4.8-million door to door COVID-19 tender as well as PPE tenders in the province.

The provinces’ education department has also dismissed suggestions of irregularities in an e-learning equipment tender.

It’s been alleged that a deal worth over R400-million for the supply of tablets was grossly inflated by politically connected people.
