Driver dies after slamming into tree in Durban North

KwaZulu-Natal: At 20H20 Saturday night, Netcare 911 responded to a collision on Kenneth Kaunda Road in Durban North.

Reports indicate that the driver of a bakkie lost control in the wet weather, resulting in the bakkie slamming into a tree, then coming to rest against a boundary wall.

The patient, an adult male, was assessed on scene by paramedics and found to have no signs of life and sadly declared deceased on the scene.

The Ethekwini Fire and Rescue services had to use hydraulic tolls to free the body of the man trapped in the vehicle.

All relevant authorities were on the scene.
