An opportunity exists for a Driver Trainer based in Gauteng and covering the Branches in and around the Gauteng area including other provinces

Key responsibilities:

Tanker Operations experience a must.
Must have Fuel product knowledge.
Maintaining an effective Driver Training Programme for all allocated contracts.
Ensuring the effective implementation of the Professional Driving Qualification adhering to all Quality Management components as required by the Transport SETA;
To support the Accident Prevention Campaign;
To ensure the effective recruitment of new Drivers;
To identify and minimise all potential risks and to undertake motor vehicle crash Investigations within the region
To maintain the administration of your activities and to report on your activities
Have the ability to work with minimum supervision, arranging with different contract managers /controllers for training of all drivers.
To foster and maintain exceptional client relationships with the allocated contracts.
Be aware of the SOP and Fuel Requirements.
Safe operating of a tail lift knowledge and experience.
Product specific load securing knowledge.
Crane vehicle operating procedure knowledge and experience.
VFL’s specific related to the Fuel contracts which include specific job observation. Vehicle inspections, Site Walks and Near misses.
Driver trainer must have access and knowledge of Drivecam and its daily application/ monitoring to address drivers with bad behaviour.
Must have Fatigue monitoring and management thereof experience.
Must understand the training matrix, how to complete it, ensure all information is correct and manage on a monthly basis.
Must be able to give basic firefighting training.
Must be able to do in cab training.
Must be willing to travel – to other branches and with long distance drivers.
Training and Driving knowledge on Ultra, Heavy and Medium Motor vehicles.
Updating and maintaining of RRA ( Route Risk Assessments)
Must understand fuel consumption and the application thereof.

Have matric, or equivalent education
Have a Code EC license and a valid PRDP with category DGP and at least 5 years driving experience of the Fuel and General Transport industry
Must be computer literate in Microsoft, Google and other related programmes, Level 3 maximum.
Have good record keeping and admin skills
Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
Must have facilitator and presentation skills and 5 years training experience
Must have training experience in the Fuel, Oil and Gas Industry
Have practical experience in investigating accidents and/or incidents
Have an assessor’s qualification, accredited by TETA and be registered as an assessor with TETA on the Driver Qualification Unit Standards
RTMS implementation knowledge and experience.
Must have completed a train the trainer qualification
Have the ability to schedule and run any training courses
Have the ability complete a Route Risk Analysis & Journey Plans
Are prepared to work flexible working hours
Must be able to work under pressure
It is essential that the applicants have the ability to work under various strenuous conditions, irregular working hours and weekends as may be required from time to time.
