The muso has headlined several shows worldwide and worked with some of the biggest acts in the music industry. He has been credited with thrusting several stars into the limelight and always brags about it.
Despite his good deeds, he has been accused of gatekeeping, and several stars have openly called him out. Some have taken a swipe at him with cryptic posts.
Recently, another Amapiano star revealed that DJ Maphorisa was not part of Manzi Nte despite appearing on the credits. These remarks undoubtedly saw DJ Maphorisa trend for the wrong reasons.

I’m not referring to Stokie or Kabza; they’re the bosses. I’m talking about the new guys. You’re my kids; there’s nothing you can do.”
DJ Maphorisa added, “Especially these negative ones. It’s crazy because you talk about me but still have to play my song; how does that make sense? I changed the game, and they still want to talk nonsense. But go ahead, we’re still going to do wonders with Amapiano.”
Fans quickly flooded X, formerly Twitter, with their two cents. An X user commented, “Never beating the allegations, I’m afraid.” Popular X user ChrisExcel102 added, “This one will go down as the most shameless artist in history.” Another X user posted, “I’m scared for his downfall; it will be painful.”
Meanwhile, some netizens defended DJ Maphorisa, saying that the muso had helped so many stars and deserved all the praise; hence, his statements are factual.
