Responsible for quality control and auditing of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data. Manages and grants access to the various databases. Works directly with users to resolve data conflicts and inappropriate data usage and may manipulate data within accordance with organization standards. Directs the maintenance and use of the corporate data dictionary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the definition, creation, and maintenance of Client application database structures
Analyze, test, and implement physical database designs supporting business applications
Ensure data recoverability, database availability, data integrity, agreed level of performance and capacity planning for physical databases
SQL Server DBMS installation, configuration, and overall management
Documentation and MIS collection for the assigned application area databases.
Research and development of technical area assigned.
Team player
Escalation of issues, incidents and risks to management when they arise.
Setup and coordinate client application area interaction on a regular basis
Ensure maintenance plans and documentation are in place, re-visited and updated at least once quarterly or after changes impacting the application area.
DBA process refinement.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
At least three years DBA working experience AND at least eight years DBA experience for a Senior role
Experience need to include all disciplines of DBA work – administration, performance tuning, security, backup and recovery etc.
Microsoft SQL Server Database certification recommended
Working knowledge of SQL Server, Sound working knowledge of the operating system SQL resides on and SQL’s usage of the underlying infrastructure
Knowledge of general database concepts
Understanding up to SQL Server 2016
Working knowledge and understanding of SQL2012 & 2014
Basic knowledge of underlying operating systems the DB resides on
Working knowledge and sound understanding of all available products, services and resources in the SQL Server suite of products
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS: Database Knowledge, IT Data Analysis, Data Security, Risk Management, Reporting and Administration
