Job Title: Data Capturer x2
Duration: Fixed-Term Contact until 31 March 2020
Location: Nkangala District
Department: Technical Assistance Prevention – KFW
Reporting to: Area Manager

Main Purpose of the Position:

To capture data from consent forms into Epi Data to enable managers at all levels to analyze the health situation, set relevant objectives and make appropriate plans which can be locally monitored using pre-defined health indicators Scope of work:

Capture raw data from all service points

Raw data from all service points is captured into the relevant facility database
Consolidation of individual service point monthly reports and submit a facility report to the facility manager.
Maintain registry system for service point/ clinician submission
Ensure proper filing of all monthly data reports (physical and electronic)
Good Quality Data

Ensure data is collected using standardized tools
Check captured data for consistency and accuracy
Capture data within relevant time frames.
Run validation queries on all data bases.
Follow-up on incomplete data.
Verify and correct data for accuracy
Improve and maintain computer-based information systems to ensure availability, integrity, and security of data.

Reporting Mechanism enforced

Maintain monthly reporting template for the submissions of reports.
Checking facility has correct collection tools, version and updated electronic tool.
Giving regular feedback to facility (Weekly Monthly, Quarterly, Annually and ad hoc)
Provide general administrative support and document archiving to the facility

Attend weekly data team meeting and ensure proper documentation of minutes
Effective usage of available Health Information Systems

Generate monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports from Information systems as required.

Essential Qualifications:

Grade 12
Certificate in DHIS and TIER.net training

Working Experience:
At least 2 years of data capturing the experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of Epi data
Must have excellent typing skills
Must be able to work accurately with speed, yet pay attention to detail
Must have knowledge of the DHIS and information management cycle
Must have knowledge of health status indicators and skills to develop indicators
Must have mentoring skills
Familiarity with and ability to capture data on DHIS and ETR.net
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with staff including provision of constructive, timely, and interactive feedback
Ability to gather, analyze information and write reports
Must be aware of the district healthcare system, including management structures, the functioning of clinical teams, policies, and appropriate lines of communication
Must adhere to information management audit compliance requirements
Ability to work with and update online databases and content management systems
Provide training and advice to colleagues and sometimes clients on the use of electronic information services
Supervising and training other information staff
Need to be aware of cost-saving measures
Must assist with human resource planning, organizing and controlling
Assist with recruitment and selection and retention strategies
Implement performance management
Should have knowledge of and ability to implement progressive discipline
Ability to maintain good employee relations
Promote the organizational culture of a learning organization

Ability to address mediate and mitigate conflict situations
Must display strong networking and excellent people management skills
Proficiency in written and verbal communication is essential
Must have good spelling and grammar skills
Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Lotus Notes and/MS Outlook
Microsoft Access
Ability to input data into statistical software packages e.g. Epi Info, Stata is advantageous
Should foster innovation and creativity
Ability to work in a highly pressurized environment that is deadline and target driven
