The DA claims it has its own solutions for the troubled Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital. The party’s Gauteng health spokesperson, Jack Bloom, said that would be to team up with the private sector.
We need a public-private partnership, we need to use the best brains in the private sector and get this hospital open,” Bloom said.
“Honestly, to set such a large date so far [away] in time, which they are not likely to meet based on previous experience, I think it’s unthinkable. Government has said it may take up to two years before the hospital is fully operational again. A fire in April destroyed a large part of the facility.
