Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo’s mom has revealed what her son told her after the Bianconeri’s exit from the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
The Italian giants ended up tied with Ajax Amsterdam over the two quarter-final legs, but were dumped out due to the Dutch side scoring two away goals, with the aggregate scoreline being 2-2.
Ronaldo scored in both the home and away fixtures for Juventus, but was unable to help Juve go all the way in the competition their hierarchy have been so desperate to win in recent years.
After the second leg, the 34-year-old’s mom said her son was devastated by the result, and revealed what he said to her about the game.
“He was sad, he wanted to go to the final,” Maria Dolores Aveiro said, as quoted by Portuguese newspaper A Bola.
“He will try for the next one.
“What did he say to me? ‘Mum, I don’t work miracles…'”
Ronaldo scored six goals and assisted a further two strikes in nine Champions League matches for Juventus this season.
