The former Real Madrid and Manchester United star earned around $45 million through endorsements in 2019. CR7 became the third athlete to have a life contract with sport kit giants Nike after basketball heroes Michael Jordan and LeBron James. Ronaldo has the most followers on Instagram in the world with over 222 million, a feat no human being has met. Among his notable achievements includes five Champions Leagues trophies, five Balon d’Or awards, the European Championships and the Nations League with Portugal.

Meanwhile, its also reported that Cristiano Ronaldo emerged the highest-paid footballer in 2020, and came second in the overall earning sports celebrities after recording a £85.8 million income, Forbes claimed. Lionel Messi came second among the footballers and third overall after with £83.4 million income due to the pay cut during the global pandemic. However, multiple Grand Slam winner Roger Federer is number one on the list of and became the first tennis star to move up to the top earners.
