
The eThekwini Municipality is urging residents to adhere to COVID-19 regulations.
Tons of people are flocking to the beach this festive season.
With the country battling the fourth wave, there are concerns overcrowding could hamper the fight against coronavirus.
eThekwini Municipality’s Malcolm Canham said: “We have to mitigate against the spread and eThekwini becoming a super spreader.
“We’re encouraging everyone to obey the COVID-19 protocols. Regulations are clear, mask-wearing is important.
“Social distancing at the beach….we appeal for sensibility. If we determine that beaches are over-crowded, there’s going to be a problem. We have a plan in place.”
